この秋冬の「Art at Tokyo Tech」は、『異邦からのまなざしⅢ 新しい音を求めて』と題して、国際的に活躍する方々のパフォーマンス、演奏会をおこないます。

川畑 伊知郎：
1981年、東京生まれ。3歳からピアノを始め、加勢るり子氏、Tusa Erzsébet氏に師事。1986年以来V. AshkenazyとE. Kissinとの交友を通じ音楽性を深める。1989年にストックホルムでデビュー後、ヨーロッパを中心に演奏活動を続ける。1999年に音楽之友社よりCD発売。2000年初代国王戴冠1000年記念ハンガリーフェスティバル、2001年フレシュピアニスト・コンサート、2003年JPAPCサマーコンサートに出演。同年、全日本彩明ムジカコンコルソ・ピアノ部門第1位、2004年万里の長城杯国際音楽コンクール・ピアノ部門第1位。2005年国連創設60周年記念コンサートに出演。2007年日本・台湾交流演奏会においてラフマニノフ・ピアノ協奏曲第2番を演奏。現在、東京工業大学大学院生命理工学研究科博士後期課程3年に在学中。

ジョン・ウィーズ：
現在注目されるノイズアーティスト、作曲家。アメリカロサンゼルスを中心に世界的に活躍。
プロジェクトはLHD、Sissy Spacek等多くの音楽家と協力している。たとえば Sunn O)))、Wolf Eyes、Merzbow、Dave Phillips、Smegma、Kevin Drumm、Cattle Decapitation、
C. Spencer Yeh。 ヨーロッパ、北欧、オーストラリアでは Sunn O)))のメンバーとして、英国では Free Noise tour ( Evan Parke、C. Spencer Yeh、Yellow Swans等と)、米国ではWolf Eyes等と。第５２回ベネチアビエンナーレにNico Vascellariとともに招待される。今回演奏する"Circle Snare"はライブのMSP（実験音楽ソフト）によるもので非循環的な思考の流れをつなぐ新たな音楽。

鈴木昭男：
ノイズレス音楽家、アーティスト。1970年にエコー楽器アナラポス創作。88年には子午線上の京都府網野町で“日向ぼっこの空間”を発表。一日自然の音に耳をすますという行為で話題になる。世界の現代芸術の最高峰であるドイツカーセルのドクメンタ８に招待される。ドナウエッシンゲン現代音楽祭、ザールブリュッケン市美術館、大英博物館、パリ・ザツキン美術館などヨーロッパを中心に世界の主要な美術展や音楽祭に招聘されている。『聴く』ことを主体とする欲求から発想された活動、作品の形態は一貫した姿勢であり、「音と場の探求者」として多くの分野の芸術家達から注目されている。２００７年京都近代美術館「ノイズレス鈴木昭男＋ロルフ・ユリウス展」,２００８年一宮三岸節子美術館での個展、2007年秋にソロCD「k7 box (カセットボックス)」をリリース。

Kawahata
was born in Tokyo in 1981, he began the piano at age three. He studied under
Ruriko Kase and Tusa Erzsébet. Kawahata’s interest in music dates back
to 1986 when he first met V.Ashkenazy and E. Kissin. Kawahata made his
European recital debut in Stockholm in 1989. He made number of recitals
including the celebration concert of 1000th Hungarian coronation
anniversary in 2000. In 2003, Kawahata received the first prize in the All
Japan Piano Competition, then he won the first prize in “the Great Wall”
International Piano Competition. In 2005 he was invited as a guest pianist to
the United Nations 60th anniversary concert. Last year he played
Rachmaninov Piano concert No.2 at Japan-Taiwan amicable concert with the joint
orchestra. Currently, he studies Neurology in a PhD program at Tokyo Institute
of Technology.

Wiese was an artist and composer from Los Angeles, California. His body of work is
comprised of ongoing projects including LHD and Sissy Spacek,with plenty
of freelance work with artists as diverse as Sunn O))), Wolf Eyes, Merzbow,
Dave Phillips, Smegma, Kevin Drumm, Cattle Decapitation, and C. Spencer
Yeh. He has toured extensively throughout the world, covering Europe, Scandinavia
and Australia as a member of Sunn O))), the UK as part of the Free Noise
tour (a tentet including Evan Parker, C. Spencer Yeh, Yellow Swans, etc.),
the United States alongside Wolf Eyes, and recently performed in the 52nd
Venice Biennale with artist Nico Vascellari. The piece "Circle Snare"
is a composition for live-input MSP. Various analog sources will be manipulated
to create an indeterminate interaction between various non-looping streams
of thought, creating a sense of live concrete music.

Akio Suzuki Performance “Life”

Akio Suzuki is known as a pioneer of sound art in the world, but the breadth of his
activities and the form of his works far exceeds the normal boundaries
of sound art. It is perhaps more as a "quester after sound and space"
that he has received the most attention from artists in many fields. Suzuki
is invited frequently to the US and Europe, and his performances at leading
music festivals, Festival d'Automne (Paris, 1978) and Documenta 8 (Kassel,
1987) were rapturously received. His solo CD titled “K7 box” has released
in autumn 2007. |

Ensemble Trichord was organized when Fumiko Yoshida, Saori Sakamoto and Mari Minoda played "Quatrain"
composed by Toru Takemitsu. They mainly play modern and present music. In addition
to those, they are also challenging the new style music.
