Art at Tokyo Tech 2013 Audition


 We invite participants of the 2nd Audition for Open Master Class by YVES HENRY on October 30th 2013.
Those who love music and are interested in performing piano,string music, the wooden pipes, and other instruments (excluding electric ones) are welcomed.

VenueDigital Audio-visual Lecture Theater, West 9 Building, Ookayama Campus.
Eligible personspresent and former students, present and former staffs or their family members of Tokyo Tech who are not under middle school age. Those who are to take the Open Master Class via 1st audition are excluded.
ApplicationAn application should include applicant's name, name of laboratory and department or affiliation, and name of music which an applicant wishes to perform at the audition (within 10 minutes ), and must be sent to art.jim@jim.titech.ac.jp on or before June 28th.

YVES HENRY(Pianist and composer)


Pianist and composer born in 1959 in Evreux (North-west of France). He was soon recognized as a prodigy child, performing Beethoven’s 1st Concerto at the Berlin Philharmonic on his 13th birthday. His teachers are Pierre Sancan and Aldo Ciccolini etc. He obtained several prizes in international competitions, finally the Robert Schumann International Competition in Zwickau. Today he teaches at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique de Paris and the Conservatoire National de Région de Paris and he is a President of Festival Chopin in Nohant.
Yves Henry is invited regularly to the United States, Japan and China for concerts and master classes in universities. In 2010,he gave piano lessons, and concerts at the Japan Piano Teachers Association and becomes with an honorary member. He was made a Officer of the National Order of Arts and Letters by the French Minister of Culture and received polish Gloria Artis distinction for his contribution to the Chopin’s year in France.
