Specialized in Space Physics, High-Speed Imaging of Aurora. Representative of Aurora 3D Project. Many writings and lectures about Aurora including 「宇宙天気50のなぜ」(2011).  Ryuho Kataoka’s Website

The lecturer gives plain explanation on the Auroral mechanism from the viewpoint of relation between the earth and the space. We also expect live video aurora from Norway (It will depend on the weather of the day in Norway).3rd and 4th graders of Shimizukubo Elementary School, Oota Ward will join the lecture.

Specialized in Space and Upper Atomospheric Sciences,Geophysics.Deputy Director of Arctic Environment Research Center. Involved in various international joint researches in the Arctic Circle.

The lecturer introduces the varieties of observations about the Arctic Circle environment which they have conducted in Ny-Alesund Research Base, Svalbard Islands, in Norway. And he gives plain explanation on the global climate and environmental change, which can be discovered by observations there. 5th and 6th graders of Shimizukubo Elementary School, Oota Ward will join the lecture.
