About
The Tohoku earthquake on March 11th 2011 resulted in massive damage around Japan's North Eastern district. The Tokyo Institute of Technology set up a project called "Practical Disaster Solution" in order to support the devastated area and to study practical solutions for disasters.
The project sent 50 students to the Tohoku area and was made possible by the cooperation of Tokyo Tech, NTT Docomo Mobile Society Research Institute, and the National Research Institute for Earth Science and Disaster Prevention. Students stay in the devastated area, thinking of the technologies required for becoming a tough society against disaster.
This website was set up with a purpose of spreading the ideas nurtured by those students.
